In the twinkling, moonlit hours of Thursday, October 3, 2013, THE MODERN HONOLULU hosted Hawaii's most fashionable (naturally!) for a VIP after party surrounding Hawaii Fashion Month.
Following "couture" cocktails at The Study, invited guests made their way into ADDICTION where, appropriately, the ceiling was crafted to look like the island sky. Thousands of light bulbs softly lit the all-star fashionistas that swiftly filled the room.
The occasion was the wrap party for a successful two-day trade show – entitled "Outfit" – that kicked off the first Hawaii Fashion Month in history.
Melissa White, co-founder of Hifi co-op and fashion incubator and one of the founders of Hawaii Fashion Month was the celebrated guest of honor. She strutted into ADDICTION boasting a custom coiffured "up-do" styled at the hands of none other than Paul Brown, eponymous salon and spa owner. Brown, who typically maintains a low public profile, was there, as well – insuring not a hair (or cocktail) was out of place.
Local fashionistas spotted across the dance floor included Ed Hernandez, founder and creative director of the Organik t-shirt line. He and jewelry designer Yuriko Galura were clearly have a blast imbibing on the fabulous cocktails, which surely aided in transporting them to the dance floor just as ADDICTION "Soundologist" spun groovy tunes.
Aspiring fashion model Elle Finn was seen in the VIP lounge wearing a gorgeous halter style Maia dress, designed by Rupal Gohil, a local rising star whose designs are crafted in her homeland of India, but are entirely styled and inspired by her Hawaiian lifestyle.
There's no question, this month the fashionable "in" crowed is basing themselves out of Hawaii's most stylish locale – THE MODERN HONOLULU.
