Located on the northeast side of Oahu, Kualoa Ranch is a 4,000-acre, family-owned cattle ranch, established in 1850. Its northern half has back-dropped films and television shows including Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor, Godzilla, Tears of the Sun, 50 First Dates, Hawaii Five-O (original and re-made), Magnum P.I. and Lost. The southern half of Kualoa Ranch includes Hakipuu Valley, an 800-year-old Molii fishpond and Secret Island. Explore the dynamic terrain by tour or your choice of recreational activities.
Ride horseback through Kualoa Ranch into Ka’a’awa Valley for views of WWII bunkers, the Kualoa Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. One- and two-hour tours are offered. (Same for ATV rides.) At Secret Island Beach, kayak, stand-up paddle, canoe or just hang on the shore. Hula lessons are also available.
The Jungle Expedition straps you into a Pinzgauer to conquer the steep hills and stream beds of the Hakipuu Valley. On the Movie Sites and Ranch Tour at Kualoa Ranch, you’ll see Godzilla’s footprints, the Windtalkers battleground and sites from Jurassic Park and Lost. The Ocean Voyage Tour reveals Mokolii Island and Hokulea Beach from a 49-passenger catamaran; the Ancient Fishing Grounds and Tropical Garden Tour showcases ancient fishponds and a sensory garden.
“ If you are visiting between November and February, don’t miss Waimea Bay on the North Shore where the island’s top surfers take on 30-foot waves ”
