Connect with Hawaii's Food Culture During this Special Series

As a hub for Honolulu’s contemporary culture and creativity, THE MODERN HONOLULU is continually bringing new experiences to the forefront. The hotel’s participation in the “Eat, Think, Drink!” series is no exception. You're invited to join us, August 28th, 2017, for the third event in this quarterly series designed to connect audiences with innovators who are changing the way we look at the Hawaiian food culture

Developed by the Hawai’i Agricultural Foundation, the upcoming “Eat, Think, Drink!” focuses on how to access capital and move your project from seed to shelf. What does it take to turn a value-added local product into a viable, profitable business? Incubators and startup accelerators continue to see out new innovators who can foster development and create capital in a demand-driven industry.

The evening will bring an exciting panel together to discuss what the venture capital landscape looks like and what exactly these investors are focusing on when seeking out new opportunities. Panelists will share their personal stories, experience and knowledge on food issues, agriculture, sustainability and technology.

The event will then transform (7-9 p.m.) into a fun, interactive gathering and networking opportunity with a dine-around featuring five up-and-coming, notable chefs and tastemakers who have been tasked to create dishes inspired by the theme of the series

Keynote Speaker:

Lou Cooperhouse, Executive Director of Rutgers Food Innovation Center

  • Kyle Datta, Ulupono Initiative
  • Greg Leong, Arocrest Company
  • Chef Matt Small, Chef Zone
