Manaola Returns to Study Hall at THE MODERN HONOLULU
Join THE MODERN HONOLULU for a special Study Hall turned Fashion Show!
Native Hawaiian hula practitioner and self-taught fashion designer, Manaola Yap, will be hosting this upcoming Study Hall on Wednesday, March 7th. The event will kick off at 6pm in The Study at THE MODERN HONOLULU, starting with a special opening hula performance by the designer. Following the performance, there will be an inspirational talk story and fashion show preview of Manaola’s line created exclusively for Saks Fifth Avenue.
With influences found primarily in nature - whether it be endemic Hawaiian foliage or pebbles found seaside - the powerful symmetry of Manaola’s prints evoke the effortless beauty of Hawaii. Born and raised a native Hawaiian, his breathtaking designs reflect these cultural and artistic roots with bold patterns and textiles that merge mainstream with traditional. At only thirty-one years old, and fresh off his first NY Fashion Week, Manaola is already making big waves in the fashion industry, namely with Saks Fifth Avenue, who have partnered with Manaola to bring his designs to their Waikiki store in 2018.
Join us March 7th, as Manaola shares his inspiration and unveils his latest fashions during our next Study Hall turned Fashion Show!
